Camping on Site
UPDATE 5/7/25: ON SITE CAMPING IS FULL.
We are so happy to have a big camp out on the Howell-Adams property. This place is so special to all of us and so much effort has gone into making it capable of hosting all of you. We invite all of you to enjoy the natural beauty, calming of the passing tide, sights of Lopez across the channel, and with any luck, a beautiful vista of Mt. Baker and the Olympics.
That being said: we want to reiterate that this will be primitive festival-style camping: grass, straw, wood chips, etc. We hope we can temper your expectations accordingly, but lots of energy has gone into making each site as comfortable as possible. To plan ahead we ask that you consider what you might need to have your ultimate cozy camping experience.
Recommended packing list:
-rain fly and ground cover tarp (a must: be safe, not sorry!)
-a good sleeping pad or air mattress (a must: hello glamp!)
-cozy blankets and a camp pillow
-extra layers for sleeping outside as needed
-headlamp or flashlight (read: not your phone flashlight)
-personal toiletries and towel
-sunscreen and sunglasses
-bug repellent lotion or cream if desired (no toxic sprays pls)
-any extra non-perishable snacks or bevys you'd like to personally enjoy throughout the weekend
-eye mask and/or ear plugs if desired
-tent decor!!! Spice up your campsite with any decorations that don’t include tiny sequins, tinsel, etc. We’ll have a contest for the best decorated campsites, so come correct!
There will be small amenities tables with portable water and personal care items at each site. Someone will be checking to restock these items throughout the weekend as needed. If for any reason your campsite is untenable for you, let us know and we will do our best to get you situated elsewhere. After Monday afternoon there will be a large chunk of folks leaving, so there will be some options to shuffle sites around a bit for Monday night camping.
Personal camping stoves are allowed sparingly: ONLY in the main field and ONLY to heat water for coffee/tea between the hours of 7:00AM and 10:00PM. We ask that you do not cook food on personal camping stoves. We will be providing coffee and many meals throughout the weekend. Please pack whatever non-perishable camping delights you feel like you might need to curb any extra munchies.
Bathrooms:
Port-o-potties will be available on the property along with sanitary products.
Showers:
We will have a few solar showers available on the property. Public showers are also available at the Port or the Marina, both a 2 minute drive from the property. Pro move: You can take the shuttle on Monday and ask the driver to drop you at the top of the marina and let them know when your pickup time is.
Noise:
Due to the proximity of neighbors and the proximity of camping sights, we are going to ask that we adhere to a couple guidelines about noise. We ask that amplified music shut down at 10:30 so we don’t get the police called. We ask that all camping guests respect a midnight noise curfew so that we can all get a little shut eye. We don’t mean that everyone has to go to bed at midnight but that we are guests at peoples homes and want to be courteous. For those intent on socializing past midnight we will have a small gathering at the “cocktail lounge” to direct noise away from folks wanting to sleep. It's a small property and volume will travel, so if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.
“GARDEN CAMP” and “THREE TREES CAMPS” are our quiet camps, so we ask that people keep it at a reasonable volume past 10:00 in those areas. Mainly and plainly, we all want to party and celebrate, but if we could try and maintain a little collective courtesy about volume it’ll go a long way for everyone involved. Thank you in advance!
We are going to have additional overflow camping if needed off site at our family friend's orchard - 55 Redwing Lane, San Juan Island - that is a couple miles away, but since it’s an island, relatively close by. We are planning on needing to use this space, as we will be prioritizing on-site camping for those traveling far distances as well as performers. We appreciate your understanding.
Additional Campsites available on San Juan Island:
-Lakedale Campground
Camping off Site
There are a plethora of hotels and bnb’s in Friday Harbor. You could also stay on Orcas and boat over.
We recommend booking early as it’s a holiday weekend. <3
